Town Black-out – Grand Carnival Parade & Spectacular Fireworks Display
As daylight fades around 5.00p.m. the streets of Virginia will be throng with people getting into their positions for the much anticipated parade to start.
The lights will go out and the town will take on a on a new demeanour
As the parade makes its way from the showgrounds up the town it will be something special.
A huge treat is in store at the end of the parade when everyone makes their way down to the shores of Lough Ramor for a Spectacular Fireworks Display on the water.
LUXe have been making Pumpkin Parades in Virginia since 2006.
Their Illuminated processions have developed year on year and after a season out in 2010 they came back in style in 2011 with the finest Illuminated Parade in the country … ever!
This year they will present a procession featuring aerial performers on the Sky Hook and the Empress Tower, mechanical horses, glittering mirrors, dancing girls and exotic giant lanterns as well as the famous giant pumpkin! Complementing the procession will be all action Masamba with Brazillian beats and exotic dancers.
Performers will be out in the street entertaining the crowds during the afternoon on Sunday.
Shortly after dusk on Sunday 28th October the parade will liven up with music, dance and light and head off up the darkened main street throng before turning at the church and leading the audience back towards the spectacular lakeside firework display.
MaSamba At Virginia Pumpkin Festival Parade
'MaSamba Samba School are Ireland’s premier street percussion group, and have performed at numerous festivals and events throughout Ireland, and in the UK, Mexico, Germany and even Brasil! The group is made up of people passionate about Brasilian culture, and the MaSamba drummers and dancers are excited to be making an appearance at the Virginia Pumpkin Festival!
MaSamba's shows are always colourful, vibrant and lively events, capturing the excitement and energy of Brasilian Carnaval! Their plan is to light up the night with powerful drumming and sultry dancing!'
