Virginia Golf News - Feb 1st, 2010
Finally the golfing year got into gear Sunday 24th Jan, temporarily it must be added, an 18 hole stableford competition took place, the morning having been frozen and fogged off. A few gents braved the elements and the winner was Finbar O'Reilly with 40 pts, followed by Maurice O'Shaughnessy with 37pts.
Unfortunately the frost caused the cancellation of last weeks competition, Jan 31st
The draw for the 2010 Spring league took place on Sunday last and all the teams and players are on the noticeborard, looking at the teams it promises to be another good competition this year. For those members who haven't entered yet but would be interested in playing on a team over the next 6-8 sundays, please contact Gary @ 086 8637967 and you will be accomodated. It is hoped to start the league next Sunday morning Feb 7th, weather permitting of course...
All members are reminded that all away scores or society scores are required to be brought back to the Club, attention of the Handicap Sec.
