Maghera Mac Finns Weekly notes - 25th January 2010
AGM
Despite a foggy freezing night, our well attended AGM took place in the Lakeside Manor Hotel, Virginia on Saturday last. Our outgoing secretary of 5 years, Martin O'Reilly reflected on the year passed including the Boat Race, Lá na gClub and the reinstatement to Division 3. He was congratulated on being nominated to the Cavan Competitions Control Committee. We are proud to have a Maghera Mac Finns member involved at County level.
Jason Fitzsimmons, our Chairman thanked officers, sponsors of the club and volunteers who worked on various projects in the club house and grounds. He also congratulated those who were married during the year. A minutes silence was held for the deceased members and relatives of the club.
Outgoing Treasurer Patrick Murphy gave his report including thanking the teams who tirelessly go out at weekends selling blotto tickets which remains a constant source of finance for the club.
Elected Officers and Executive Committee for 2010 are: Chairperson - Jason Fitzsimmons; Vice Chairperson - Jim Geraghty; Secretary - Regina Galvin; Vice Secretary - Sean Boyle; Treasurer - Patrick Potter; PRO - TBC; Registrar - Paddy McNamee; Players Representative - TBC; Irish Officer - Jim Mc Hugh.
Further Officers: Child Protection Officer - Katrina McConnell; Alcohol and Drug Awareness Officer - Fergal O'Hagan; Insurance Officer - Derek Dunne; First Aid Officer - Martin County; Coaching Officer , Youth Officer and Schools Officer - TBC. Team Management: Brian Galvin and Paddy McNamee.
MEMBERSHIP FEES
Adult membership - €20; Youth membership - €5; Family Membership - €50. For insurance purposes all adults and children must be registered members to be covered. Membership forms will be available in the club house and fees are payable by Sunday February 14th '09. A list of paid up and registered members will then be displayed in the club house.
CHRISTOPHER SHEILDS MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT
Under 16 seven-a-side tournament to be held at Kingspan Breffni Park on 29th / 31st Jan '09 and 5th/6th February '09.
JUVENILE COMMITTEE AGM
To be held in the Lakeside Manor Hotel on Friday 29th January '09. Time: 7.30pm. Issues for the agenda to be given to Juvenile Secretary - Olga Brady for inclusion.
DAMIAN SHERIDAN REUNION AND SOCIAL
Ex Maghera Mac Finns player coming to join us at the Lakeside Manor Hotel on Friday 23rd January '09 after the Juvenile AGM. Also members of the 1974 Cavan Minor Team Ulster Champions. Nostalgic Music on the night. Admission free.
